Meet the New Editor of the Elmwood Newsletter!!!

What can I say about Dawn? She is AWESOME! I am very pleased to be turning over the reigns of the newsletter to someone so talented and creative. I will let Dawn tell you about herself when she gets started with the newsletter. There may be a week or so before she gets rolling so please be patient.
Don't think you have seen the last of me. I will pop in every now and then with something exciting and interesting. Thank you to everyone who has read and enjoyed the newsletter every week. You can always go through the history and look at back issues if you want to see your kids at the skating rink. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 9 year run with the Elmwood newsletter and it is because of the response I've received from you. A big thanks to John and Irina Harrington with Wirebuilt who developed the network of newsletters in Cass County. They are always looking for ways to improve the technology of the newsletter...you know...the part I don't understand. The Elmwood Newsletter is made possible by the support of the principal sponsor, The American Exchange Bank. They saw the value in having a local newsletter and have been ardent supporters throughout the years.

Painting Again? Didn't you get it right the first time?
No. No, I didn't. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting it right this time either. But it will look good for awhile!
A big thanks to Mike and Colleen Winter with help from Wes Bogenrief for power washing the equipment for me. The paint from last year just couldn't hold up to the kids! I'll try again. This is what it looks like before and I'll let you know what it looks like when it is done.
Vince was a huge help! He helped me haul 4 loads of limbs and brush away and then he stained the bench! It looks nice!

No Parking Here to Corner means No Parking Here to Corner but this sign is not very prominent and easy to miss. So...
We came up with a way to make it more visible. I painted the No Parking sign in this space. "Why do we need this space to be vacant?" you ask? To save lives. The business on the corner here is a daycare and as you can imagine it can get quite hectic here in the morning and evening. If you are traveling north and want to turn east you can't see the street you are turning on if there is a car here. It is very dangerous for parents, kids, and vehicles that are coming and going at the day care. We have had several near accidents and several people have asked for the Village Board to do something. Please pay attention and keep the kiddos safe!
