The Clements Insurance Agency and Lifetime Wellness office building received a new facelift last week.
The work was done by Premier Painting of Nebraska City. They made quick work of it and finished up on Saturday.
Anthony Baker, in the white, is the owner of the company. He made sure the job was perfect.
Notice the "Welcome to Elmwood" sign? We have Kurk and Chris Shrader and Lou Allgayer to thank for that!
Kurk and Kris rode in the basket while Lou drove them around. They took down the Elmwood Extravaganza signs and replaced them with the Welcome to Elmwood signs.
Lou Allgayer with assistance from Connie Carlton got the baskets hung up last weekend. I loitered around them to give moral support.

The Shakespeare in the Streets Festival conducted by the Elmwood Library Board was a hit for the second year in a row! Thanks to all the businesses and volunteered who sponsored and helped at the event for making this event such a success. It was truly amazing.

Dan Brown and his partner in BBQ, Alan Brockhoff, did not disappoint. The meat was great! The turkey legs were my favorite. They had help from Dan's family, his wife Theresa, and kids, Cody and and Alyssa helped serve.

The Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees would like to notify you that if you own a dog or cat, you are required by law to license your pet for the 2015 year through the month of April at the City Hall; this year you have up until May 15th for licensing of your pet. The cost is $10.00 per dog or $8.00 if spayed or neutered and/or $5.00 per cat or $2.50 if spayed or neutered. You will be required to show a current valid rabies vaccination certificate, and/or proof of spaying or neutering certificate issued by a veterinarian.
This licensing is a requirement of State Ordinance 93.40. All dogs or cats over 6 months of age are required to be vaccinated for rabies and have a valid license. This license tag is to be worn by the pet at all times, and the animal is to be kept on the owner’s property or on a leash at all times. Any dog or cat found running at large with or without licensing may be impounded and a $50.00 fine charged for its return; if impounded a second time the fine will be $100.00, and the third time it is impounded the fine will be $150.00. In addition to the impound fee, the pet owner will be responsible for licensing fees if the pet is found running at large without a license.
This licensing is mandatory and anyone not acquiring a license for their pet by May 15, 2015, will be in violation of the law and subject to a citation. If you have not secured a 2015 license for your pet by May 15, 2015, you will be responsible for the license fee per pet in addition to a late fee charge of $50.00 per animal.
In addition to licensing, a KENNEL PERMIT or MULTI-CAT PERMIT are required for anyone having three (3) or more dogs or cats. A KENNEL PERMIT APPLICATION along with the $75.00 fee or a MULTI-CAT PERMIT with a $50.00 fee must be filed with the Village Clerk at the same time as the pet licensing application. A kennel permit or multi-cat permit may be issued pending approval by the Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees. The Pet License Application, Kennel Permit Application, and Multi-Cat Permit Application forms are available at the Village Office or online @ www.elmwoodnebraska.com.
