"Jake's Women" On Stage at Lofte Theatre
The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley opens Neil Simon's play, "Jake's Women" on August 27.? Mr. Simon is one of America's favorite playwrights. His uncanny knack for balancing humor with drama continues to resonate well with audiences of all ages.
Written in 1992, the script is fairly modern and translates well to today's audiences. The story revolves around Jake, a writer whose second marriage is in crisis because of his unresolved feelings for his first wife, who is deceased. Jake begins to play a game where he summons the people in his life for "imagined conversations." However, soon, the women start entering his world without his control and the hallucinations start to cause havoc. Jake's first wife, second wife, daughter, sister and therapist are soon interrupting his daily life and making Jake question what is real and what is imagined.
The production is directed by and stars Kevin Colbert of Weeping Water in the title role. The rotating cast of women in Jake's life are played by Brigid Amos and Brenna Thompson of Lincoln, Shari Hoelker of Omaha, Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth, Alyssa DiPaolo of Elmwood, Renae Koehler of Firth. Young Riah Carrera of Bellevue makes her Lofte debut as Jake's young daughter.
Performance dates are August 27-29, September 3-5 and 9-12. Curtain times are 7:30pm on Thursday-Saturday and 2pm matinees on Sundays. General admission tickets are $16. Reservations can be made by calling the Lofte ticket office at (402) 234-2553.
The Lofte is located near the intersection of Hwy 1 and Hwy 50 near the town of Manley.? For driving directions and more information about the theater, please visit our website, www.Lofte.com.

They've added something new to the rink! A bounce house!

Somethings don't change..kids having fun!

The bounce house is a hit with these kids.

The Birthday girl is pretty in pink!

Skating is new to this girl!

But it isn't new to this skater! She can't wait to get back on the floor. It's been too long.

Faith and Zachary are glad to be skating again.

Hannah, Hailey's little sister, is having a great time, too!

Brooke Campbell rests up as the kids go crazy at the party.

Doesn't this look like fun? We'll keep you posted on the Josoff's plans! They are getting
excited to open but have lots of work to do.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL...is Millie's last first day of school...

She was thrilled with having her picture taken!

Joe was thrilled, too.

But he perked up.

Hi, This is Ben Willey,
It's time again to raise money for the Down Syndrome Association for Families of Nebraska (D.S.A.F.) with the newly named StepUp for Down Syndrome Walk on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Antelope Park in Lincoln.
How can you help? Many different ways! You can donate by credit card on-line by going to Ben's Brigade team page here. You can donate by check made payable to DSAF of NE and send it to The Willey Family at 819 274th Street, Elmwood NE 68349. Our goal this year is to raise $1,000, so any amount will help. But the best way to show your support, is to register and come walk with us on our team Ben's Brigade. My family would love to see you there! To register, click here. Be sure to register by September 3rd to get a free T-shirt with your paid registration!
The D.S.A.F of Nebraska has given Mom and Dad a lot of helpful information and support through my first 2 years of life! This is our ONE and ONLY fund-raiser and the money raised from the StepUp Walk will pay for information for parents and educators, programs for families impacted by Down Syndrome, fun outings for my family, and much more!
The walk is 1 mile around the Children's Zoo but there will be so much more than just the walk! I know they have a lot of fun stuff planned for the kids! Here is a link to the StepUP page on the DSAF website.
Don't forget your donations are 100% tax deductible.
Let's make this walk a successful one!
Thanks for reading. Thanks for donating. Thanks for loving me for me!
Love,
Ben
Randy, Angie, John and Noah Willey
