Bess Street Aldrich House Quilt Show
It's not just your grandmother's quilts that you will find. Quiltmaking has come a long way since the early 1900s and there are over 60 quilts on display from bedspreads to wall hangings and artistic piecework.

Many of these tell a story and the patterns have an interesting history.
Mikki Clements is responsible for many of the amazing quilts on display and each piece of hers tells a story.

The volunteers and Aldrich board does an amazing job of decorating each room with period pieces that make every corner of the house a work of art. Mrs. Alrich would be so proud that her legacy is continuing and adding value to the town she loved so much.

The quilt show continues through the end of August. But if you can't physically come to the Bess Streeter Aldrich Home then continue to read the weekly news for photos each week of each room.

Elmwood Farmers Market
Last Saturday was the largest Farmers Market ever!!
We had TEN vendors from fresh flowers, dog treats, and fresh guacamole!!

Laura Stock, on the encouragement from her kids, brought beautiful flowers and bouquets.

Moose's Mad Fresh from Lincoln heard about our small market and was pleased with the camaraderie of the vendors and the customers who went MAD over his small-batch guacamole and hummus.

Seriously I am not a guac fan, it takes a special recipe for me to like it and this stuff is AMAZING!! I started with a small container (he sells chips too) and it was gone by the end of the morning. So I had to buy a big size, which was gone by the end of the weekend.

Julie, Becki, and Jennifer brought fresh and local produce again which was a success, and based on the number of people that came through the park it was another successful weekend.
I even heard that fresh snickerdoodles were brought special delivery to the park on a request. Now THAT is customer service!
MAKE SURE TO COME OUT THIS SATURDAY
YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU WILL FIND
For the latest news from our vendors

We can always use more vendors. More vendors attract more people. More people mean more vendors, more vendors mean more variety!!
More variety means you can do more of your shopping local instead of the "box" stores.
Join our Facebook group and stay up to date on who will be showcasing their produce, baked goods, and other items. Ask if anyone is bringing eggs, honey, cinnamon rolls.

Tell your Omaha and Lincoln friends to make a day trip to Elmwood.
There is so much to do on a Saturday in Elmwood. Farmers Market in the morning, lunch at the Quonset or the C-Store, over to the Bess Streeter Aldrich House for the quilt show, then over to Bits N' Pieces for some shopping. (Remember to bring your mask.)

You never know what you will find, AND you WILL find SOMETHING you just HAVE to HAVE. Trust me, I do this almost every Saturday.

If you are decorating a kids room, know someone with a baby, or expecting a baby, you can decorate a nursery on a small budget.

You can find gently used baby toys, kids hangers, and kids' clothes for back to school, backpacks, and more!
Kurk and Cindy Dwyer really utilized the time they were closed due to COVID-19 to their advantage. They rearranged, added more items, did more groupings and it is even MORE of a treasure trove than before.
It truly is the best thrift store in the county, if not in Eastern Nebraska.
The variety is second to none and the prices can't be beat.
Lions Club Peaches & Pears
Another tradition you may have missed it the Lion Club peaches and pear sale. You can still order during the month of July. Don't forget.
