REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Meeting Held at Elmwood Village Hall
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Chairperson Miki Bruns called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Bruns stated that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted.
Roll Call was answered by Renee Holland, Jared Blunt, Becky Kicak & Miki Bruns. Absent: Pay Wray
Minutes: Holland made a motion, seconded by Blunt to approve May 5,2021 Minutes. RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0.
Blunt made a motion, seconded by Kicak to approve the Claims and Payroll for May 18 - 19, 2021 RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0

New Business
Discussion/Action Radio Meter Reads
Ed presented a quote from Core & Main for switching the whole Village to Command Link radio reads. Ed informed the board of what would need to be done in the process if this does occur. The board will consider this bid into the 2021 – 2022 budget.
Discussion/Action Ulmer Construction car/bike show board approval
Bruns informed the board members that they needed to approve the Ulmer Construction car/bike show so that we can do a Resolution at the next board meeting. Holland made a motion to approve the Ulmer Construction car/bike show on July 31, 2021, second by Kicak. RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action Purchase of an engraver – for pet tags
When Moriah gets back from Maternity leave, she will send out flyers to Village residents on renewing their pet permits and will also add the announcement to the Town newsletter. When renewing pet tags this year we will use up excess of past years tags. Holland made a motion to approve the purchase of the $25 engraver on Amazon for the use of the Village, second by Kicak. RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0

Discussion/Action Resolution 05192021 – Stop signs at B & 3RD Street

Discussion/Action Rock prices for alley on 2nd & D Street and a list of other alleys that need rocked
Jeff made a map of the alley’s that need rocked and marked the ones that were higher priority and presented it to the board. The board discussed the matter and said we will rock the alleys that are priority as the budget allows and that the rest will wait until next budget year. Holland made a motion to approve NE Digging for 1.5-inch Rock for 6.5 blocks & not to exceed $5,600, second by Kicak. RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0

Library: Kicak made a motion to approve April 2021 Minutes, second by Blunt RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0
Park: Board members discussed the new park sign that was installed in the park for the compliance of the park grant and the board is wanting the sign to be relocated closer to the North East corner of the sidewalk by the Gazebo and not just out in the open area of the park. Holland made a motion to relocate the park sign to the North East corner of the sidewalk by the Gazebo, second by Blunt. RCV Yes: Approved 4-0
Streets: Gus will help with repainting the parking lines around town.

Planning/Zoning: Kicak made a motion to approve April 2021 minutes, second by Holland. RCV Yes: Approved 4-0Next Meeting is May 11, 2021 @ 7:00pm
Public Comment:
Correspondence:. There was a complaint by Bonnie Brewer about the cleanliness of the entry way of the Learning Center building since Moriah is on maternity leave and Bonnie told Miki that it’s the duty of the Village office to keep up on the cleaning even if Moriah was gone. Bruns said that while Moriah is on maternity leave Gus can help with cleaning in the office.
