EMMA is proud to reveal this year's ElMur Fest graphic which depicts
features of Elmwood and Murdock to be proud; history, agriculture, industry,
school, faith, recreation and tourism. Look real close and you'll see the
first Barn Quilt in the upper
right corner.

September 8 th is “ElMur Fest” , a day for the communities of
Elmwood and Murdock to come together for good food, fun, exhibits,
celebration, competition and racing excitement. The Elmwood Murdock Merchant's
Association is hosting the fourth annual celebration which has been renamed “ElMur Fest” to depict all the community events. The anchor event is the
“ElMur” Nebraska State Road Race Championship for semi-pro bike racers. A
Local Fun Race and Kids Bike Races are fun for everyone. See the full schedule
of events below.
QUILT SHOW by The Oxbow Quilters, with Barn Quilt Project exhibit.
From 11-4pm, the Oxbow Quilters group will be bringing their handiwork for
exhibit to the First Christian Church. The church will be filled with
beautiful quilts and descriptions of each work. Also at the Quilt show will be
an exhibit for the FLBA Barn Quilts project that won national FBLA awards.
Pie and Ice Cream will be served at the Quilt Show between 1 and 3pm.
FEARFEST – a “Fear Factor”™ Middle School Competition
All kids in grades 6 to-8…. get your courage ready for “Fear Fest”,
a fearsome competition, ala “Fear Factor” ™ style. Each team of 4 kids
will attempt GRUESOME tasks and try to outstand, outwit and outbrave the other
teams. Prizes and BRAGGING RIGHTS await the champions. Teams should sign up at
school. Cost is $5 per person if you sign up before Sept 8, on Sept 8 is $7
per person.
Kids Events are Fun for Everyone!
Mom! Dad! Be sure to bring the kids, bring the bikes and the helmets for
the KIDS BIKE RACE, Grades 3-6. This requires a helmet and a signed parental
release. Info will be sent home from school
Moonwalk, Bungee Basketball and more… there are lots of kids events planned
for fun, fun, fun!!!

Booster Club Barbeque
Elmwood-Murdock Booster Club Annual Pork Barbecue, Friday, September 7,
2007, serving from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the bus barn during the E-M Knights vs.
Johnson County Central High School (formerly Tecumseh and Nemaha Valley)
Varsity Football Game. Menu includes barbecue pork sandwiches, potato salad,
baked beans, dessert, and a beverage. Cost is $5 for adult meals; and $3 for
kids 10 and under. NOTE: This is a change from the date listed on the school
calendar. The calendar shows the Tailgate BBQ on Friday, Aug 31st. The correct
date is Friday, September 7th.
